Abstract

We will begin in this issue by offering a brief review of the anatomy and physiology of ventilation, rather than the diffusion of gases; relating them to the physiopathology of respiratory failure. We will define what WV is, and briefly outline its variants and current fields of application. In successive deliveries, we will describe each of its applications in more detail.
