Abstract

I belong to that generation of nursing students who experienced the profession as unique and special, who suffered, felt and endured. I am one of those who stayed up until three o'clock (when practice ended at two o'clock) because a patient was given a cervical halo in neurosurgery or I went down to X-ray with a critical patient with a cerebral haemorrhage or because a colleague who was on rotation in the emergency room told me there was a cardiac arrest.
