University Sectarianism
Abstract
Can you imagine a pediatrician in medical school teaching a pediatrician who has never worked as a pediatrician? Can you imagine a surgeon who has never operated? Can you imagine a cardiologist who has never treated chest pain in the clinic? .... unimaginable, isn't it? Well, now imagine a professor of infant nursing who has never worked in a pediatric hospitalization unit, a community nurse in a health center, a mental health nurse in a psychiatric hospital, an emergency nurse in an emergency room or a palliative nurse in an oncology and/or palliative unit. I invite you to consult these aspects in your faculties and schools of reference and you will be surprised.
